What Is Long Read Metagenomic Sequencing?

Long read metagenomic sequencing is the study of microbial community genomes by PacBio's single-molecule real-time sequencing technology. By using its coherence, completeness, and accuracy, it not only analyzes microbial diversity, population structure, and evolutionary relationships but also further explores the functional activities, interactions, and relationships between microbial communities and their environment to uncover potential biological significance. At the same time, the long read-length sequencing of PacBio SMRT can reduce some assembly errors, effectively improve the resolution of microbial community identification, and greatly enhance the quality of the genome.

Customers Need to Provide

Samples

  • For soil samples, the sample should be no less than 10 g.
  • For fecal samples, the recommended sample size is 3-5 g.
  • For DNA samples, total sample DNA is greater than 5 µg, DNA concentration is greater than 80 ng/µL, OD260/280 = 1.8-2.0, A260/230 = 1.6-2.5, NanoDrop concentration/Qubit concentration = 0.5-3.0, and ensure no RNA contamination and no degradation of the DNA primary band.

Please note that all samples should be stored at -80°C. Do not freeze and thaw samples repeatedly during storage. Please ship samples with a sufficient amount of dry ice when sending samples.

Please provide the specific concentration, volume, preparation time, and species origin for each sample. And inform about the specific information as well as the control and experimental samples (if there are groupings, describe in detail the grouping analysis information).
