What Is Metagenomic Sequencing?

Metagenomic sequencing uses next-generation high-throughput sequencing technology (NGS) to study the genomes of microbial populations in specific environments, and can further explore the functional activities, interactions, and relationships between microbial populations and the environment to uncover potential biological significance based on the analysis of microbial diversity, population structure and evolutionary relationships. Compared with traditional microbial research methods, metagenomic sequencing technology circumvents the disadvantage that most microorganisms cannot be cultured.

Customers Need to Provide

Samples

• For soil samples, a sample of not less than 5 g
• For blood samples, a sample of not less than 10 mL
• for fecal samples, a sample of not less than 3 g
• for rumen fluid/fermentation fluid/tissue fluid/rinse fluid samples, a sample of not less than 3-5 mL
• For DNA samples, the total amount of sample is more than 1 µg, the DNA concentration is more than 100 ng/uL, A260/280 = 1.8-2.0, and to ensure no degradation of DNA and no contamination.

Please note that samples should not be repeatedly frozen or thawed during storage. When sending samples, please ship them with sufficient dry ice.

Sample Information

Please provide the specific concentration, volume, preparation time, and species origin for each sample. And inform about the specific information as well as the control and experimental samples (if there are groupings, describe in detail the grouping analysis information).
